This page is devoted to sharing information and literature about Astyanax cavefishes in Mexico, also known as the Mexican cavefish, cave tetra, blind tetra, etc.

I am working on the new AMCS (Association for Mexican Cave Studies) Bulletin, The Astyanax Caves of Mexico: Cavefishes of Tamaulipas, San Luís Potosí, and Guerrero. It probably will be published in Austin, Texas, in 2018.

I have updated my bibliographic database on Astyanax cavefish. I now have 800 citations including papers and cave reports. A few are secondary pubs on other topics given at AIM meetings. This biblio will be an appendix in the book and posted here. My previous biblio posted on cavefin.org had 552 papers in 2015.

I am collaborating with colleagues on documenting new fish caves in the El Abra Region for the book. Stay tuned.
